Vaesen is a Nordic Horror Roleplaying Game that takes our players into a 19th Century land of myths, folklore, and legends. We play as investigators with the Sight.
In Vaesen: Slovene Land, we will explore the human relationships with the Vaesen in the wake of industrialization and enlightenment. Step through the veil and join us as we rekindle the lingering magiks of these lands as maintained in ceremony for hundreds of years following the 8th century Bavarian Christianization.
This project is projected to Launch in Fall 2024. We are currently casting 2 additional players to join our team.
Vaesen is a TTRPG produced by Free League Publishing, and built on the Year Zero Game Engine that takes our players into a 19th Century land of myths, folklore, and legends. We play as investigators with the Sight, the ability to see Vaesen: trolls, selkie, fae, and other creatures inhabiting the natural landscape, existing long before ourselves.
We have set our campaign in the 1848 Slovene Lands, as an homage to our Game Facilitator's heritage, serving as a fun gaming experience and an opportunity to reconnect with lost culture. Our Society Headquarters is set into the isolated and mysterious Predjama Castle, in the vast Western wilderness of a region known in modern-days as Slovenia.
In the forest, ancient and green,
The spirits dwell, unseen, unseen.
From the trees and the streams they rise,
Guiding us with their gentle eyes.
The wind carries their whispers soft,
Their presence felt, but never lost.
The flowers bloom with their loving care,
And the animals frolic without a care.
The sun and the moon, they are their kin,
As they dance and sing, the world begins.
The spirits guide us through life and death,
Ever present, with every breath.
The natural world is alive and well,
Home of spirits that often dwell.
Leshy guards with a watchful eye,
Kikimora keeps the hearth fires high.
Vodyanoy rules the waterways,
While Gamayun sings of bygone days.
Alkonost's voice brings a soothing peace,
As Ovinnik tends the fields with ease.
So when you walk among the trees,
Listen closely to the gentle breeze.
And when the wind whispers in your ear,
Listen closely, for the magik is near.

Spending a 9-5 crunching numbers as a data analyst, Shadows of Prophecy has been a passion project going on 3 years of development and numerous setbacks. Timothy came to love DnD throughout the COVID-19 pandemic over Discord where they were able to connect with people all over the map and share their love of developing new bizarre and voice destroying characters. In his spare time, Timothy enjoys baking, biking, and lots and lots of crafting. They have three cats, Wasabi, Cremini, and Cannoli, and we will give you one guess to which one is the *spicy *one!
Akka Korolev (Doctor)
When not traipsing through worlds of fantasy (either through D&D, video games, or reading), Ellie spends her time hiking, rock climbing, and composing increasingly unhinged songs for and about her dog.
Luka Kos (Vagabond)
A born and raised Midwesterner, Dan works in tech by day and moonlights as a gamer, crochet-er, and/or local smart-ass (sometimes all at the same time). Outside of the aforementioned hobbies, Dan enjoys traveling, playing piano, singing, baking, trying new foods, craft cocktails, and doing gay shit. He would like to thank his cats, Cannoli, Cremini, and Wasabi, for their love and support. He wouldn’t be the cat daddy he is today without them.
Joseph Fuchs (Hunter)
Do you need a hip replaced or a coffee machine fixed? Chris knows a guy. A mechanical engineer, Chris works in the medical industry after some time in consumer goods. He’s been a D&D player/DM since 2018 and enjoys taking copious notes. Other interests include indoor rock climbing, cross-stitch, old timey point-and-click adventure games, making art from litter, and staring into the abyss near his apartment. He dreams of one day owning a farm with cows and bison.
